Relax & Reset: Finals Week Edition!
During one of the most demanding times of the semester, we were excited to host a special Finals Week Wellness Event designed to help students pause, recharge, and take care of their mental and physical well-being. The turnout was fantastic, and the atmosphere was calm, comforting, and full of community support.
Here’s a detailed look at everything we offered:
Coloring & Creativity Tables
We set up dedicated coloring stations with a variety of relaxing, high-quality drawings (the ones attached to the email), giving students a simple yet effective way to unwind. Many shared that taking a few minutes to color helped them reset and refocus before returning to studying.
Instrumental Music for Focus & Relaxation
Soft instrumental music played throughout the space, creating a soothing environment perfect for mindful breaks. The background music helped reduce stress, lower noise levels, and bring a sense of calm to the room.
Guided Meditation Breaks
Students had the option to participate in short guided meditation sessions. Whether following our in-person facilitation or YouTube meditation videos, these sessions offered a much-needed opportunity to breathe deeply, ground themselves, and let go of finals-related tension.
Bracelet-Making Station
One of the most popular stations! Students enjoyed creating custom bracelets using different beads and materials. This hands-on activity allowed for creativity while also giving students a meaningful keepsake to take with them as a reminder of self-care and resilience.
Light Stretching Station (“Stretch Breaks”)
With yoga mats available, students could step aside for a few minutes to stretch, release muscle tension from long study sessions, and improve circulation. These mini stretch breaks were a refreshing way to reset physically and mentally.
Comfort Snacks & Drinks
To keep energy levels up, we provided coffee, tea, and a variety of treats, including muffins and pain au chocolat. Students appreciated the chance to refuel with something warm and delicious before heading back to their study sessions.
